Lobbying your Congressperson: Training for "Constituent Days"

  • Central Library 201 East Market Street Charlottesville, VA, 22902 United States (map)

Come join us for a workshop on how to lobby your congressperson. Learn what to expect when calling or showing up at local congressional offices and how to prepare for the visit.

The training will be led by Craig DuBose, a local activist with experience holding Rep. Denver Riggleman accountable, including organizing multiple groups to visit the local office.

When he took office, Denver Riggleman pledged, "I look forward to discussing the issues with you in Washington and during the town halls I will conduct throughout the district.” To date, he has held none.

This workshop will prepare you for “Constituent Days,” events Indivisible Charlottesville will be holding during which VA-05 constituents will go individually and in small groups to tell Riggleman what we think of his absence from the district and of his terrible voting record. Remember, as Riggleman said himself, "The 5th District office belongs to the constituents, not the member”!
