Join us for Voices Rising, a community gathering to learn and share songs of strength and courage, hope and resistance!

Throughout history, song has been a vital force in social movements around the world and here in the U.S. From freedom songs in South Africa’s Anti-Apartheid Movement, to the Singing Revolution in Estonia, to the labor and Civil Rights movements in this country, music and song have helped sustain collective struggle.

No singing experience is necessary. All are welcome.

Come raise your voice, build community, and prepare for the work ahead.

However many sessions you’ve attended, or even if this is your first one, join us to reflect on the summer sessions of the People’s Activist Series. Bring insights you’ve gained that you want to teach others. Share the emotions and dreams and questions that have been bubbling up inside you. And, let’s take time to help everyone get plugged into next steps in community organizing and mass movement building as we prepare for the coming year and beyond.

This welcome and orientation for new (and returning) members, is designed to provide you with some basic information about the Indivisible Charlottesville organization, connect with each other, and explore ways to get involved.
