This welcome and orientation for new (and returning) members, is designed to provide you with some basic information about the Indivisible Charlottesville organization, connect with each other, and explore ways to get involved.

On August 25, local families are invited to a community gathering (details below) to prepare for the return of School Resource Officers (SROs), aka police officers, to Charlottesville City Schools. The gathering will include a community discussion where families can share concerns, ask questions, and build community; a presentation on restorative discipline in city schools; and recommendations for how parents and caregivers can help prepare their children. Light snacks and sodas will be served, and children are welcome.

Have you ever seen members of Indivisible Charlottesville's Safety Team at protests or rallies, with their vests and radios? Maybe you've wondered what's involved, or said to yourself "Hey, I'd like to volunteer for that." Well, now's your chance! Participants will learn basic principles of community safety, practice de-escalation skills, and prepare to be part of the safety team at community actions and events. Come join us, and bring a trusted friend or two.
