Witnessing ICE activity, and recording it, is within our rights and serves many purposes. We can deter ICE from kidnapping or assault, show solidarity with neighbors being harmed, and document what is happening to our neighbors so their legal team can better find them and bring them home. Come practice these skills to be better prepared the next time these dangers come around.
We have the people-power to topple the pillars that enable ICE raids. We have the people-power to refuse to let our communities be used for fascist fear-mongering and kidnapping. The more we plan ahead, the more we can be ready to go big in response, to refuse to cooperate, to stop them and get them out.
This welcome and orientation for new (and returning) members, is designed to provide you with some basic information about the Indivisible Charlottesville organization, connect with each other, and explore ways to get involved.
Mutual aid is a radical practice of changing the world relationship by relationship. This is not charity – this is not one group of “safe” people working to “save” a group of people “in danger.” The more we show up to take care of each other, the safer we all are.
